Brand design & Installation

What we look for, what we avoid, and how we

produce and rollout in EMEA and beyond!

A brief introduction

We are a multi-talented design and communications agency based in Kingston upon Thames. Together we specialise in building and maintaining brand identities through print and digital communication design, environmental branding and web design.

Matt Winstone, Managing Director

Has probably been to more IBXs
than anyone, ever.

A Jack of all trades.

Every day is different

We love the variety of projects we get to work on at Equinix, here are a few you might recognize.

Our process

Survey
the site

We survey all kinds of sites–newly built and under the control of the GCs, new sites under Equinix control, and established sites that need a brand change or an update.

Design
the space

We work with the survey team to combine our experiences to solve problems and create a space for everyone to enjoy!

Produce & transport

Our UK production team works with us to test out new methods and materials.

We can produce all of our materials from Warsaw and Amsterdam too – however we have found that the UK has the lowest production costs.

Install
& enjoy

Our installers link multiple installs into one trip, sometimes spending a couple of weeks on the road traveling from IBX to IBX in the UK and mainland Europe.

Survey the site

Capture
every corner

Is it spacious or small?

Is there an echo?

What is the lighting like?

Where there are obstacles such as pillars, plugs, TVs or air con?

Measure everything

Draw as you measure, and don’t forget those mullions!

Not sure if you are going to brand something? Measure it anyway!

Create
the brief

This brief will be used as the foundation to planning the space
with the creative team, Equinix PMs, production, and our installers.

Control room, DB3, Dublin

Requirement:

  • 100% privacy
  • Allow light through (no exterior windows)
  • Keep both inside and outside the room feeling light and airy
  • Work with already existing blue light

Design the space

Design fit
for purpose

Room function: a serenity room, training room, or office?

Practicality: a busy corridor, a dark room, or a busy meeting room?

Easy to understand or navigate.

Consider how people feel

Motivated, proud, and enthusiastic.

Calm, welcome and safe.

Confident, trusting, a sense of place.

Use your surroundings

Interact with interesting features or building themes.

Don’t over-complicated an already busy space.

Design fit for purpose

PA2 PA3 Campus, Paris

The PA2 PA3 campus has a great variety of
spaces that each require a unique approach.

Le Labo, a unique space for training.
Build: NTALPY SAS

Cafeteria, a fun space to escape
Build: RB Architects

LD5, London

Requirement:

Increase the space at Security so visitors don’t have to gather in front of the mantraps waiting.

Increase the space in the security office so three people can be checked in at a time rather than 1 to improve speed of entry.

Make the open space feel comfortable, fresh and inviting.

AXI Project

The AXI project was put together to address customer experience issues at complicated or poorly rated Equinix sites.

Survey customers and Equinix employees to find common issues.

Enhanced the directional signage on sites and simplified signage requirements to improve the customer experience.

Gather data and feed back on the results.

Create a space people feel good in

DSQ, London

Working with the CRE team, we helped create spaces that are uplifting and welcoming.

Using fret-cut vinyl graphics, we created designs that interact with the spaces.

Work with your surroundings

FR10, Frankfurt

Concrete building with black metal framing.

Our goal was to add colour and vibrancy to the space without covering or clashing with the raw materials and industrial feel.

Produce & transport

The right materials

Manifestation: level of privacy.

Seamless edging: up to 60 metres in length.

Quality, durability and consistency.

Budget: fret cut vinyl instead of full wallpapers.

Sound & lighting

Acoustic paneling or room dividers.

Tension Graphics.

Carpets and furniture.

Light boxes and strip lighting.

We ship directly from the production house best suited to the IBX if we are not installing, and if we are installing we produce in the location that our install team are starting from!

Install & enjoy

Know Equinix inside out

Our installers have worked in most Equinix sites in EMEA so they know the processes and have all the relevant certifications.

Experts with the materials

They work with us when trying new materials and are incredible at installing them.

Dedicated & determined

The team like to group projects together and have even spent 4 weeks straight travelling between IBXs in Europe installing one site after the other.
